✷Star IT Academy

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

1. Who we are

Star IT Academy is operated by Star IT, SIA, registration no. 40203604271, VAT no. LV40203604271, registered address: Līgo iela 34A, Berģi, Garkalnes pag., Ropažu nov., LV-1024, Latvija. Contact: info@starit-academy.com. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia; mandatory consumer protections of your EU member state remain unaffected.

2. What you are buying

A single self-paced online course, Applied AI for Software Professionals: reading lessons, interactive labs, audio explainers, module quizzes, a capstone project, a final exam, and — on successful completion — a personal certificate with public online verification. The course is digital content, delivered entirely online through your account, immediately after purchase. It is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no recurring charges.

3. Price, VAT and invoicing

The price shown includes VAT where applicable. For consumers in the EU, VAT is applied at the rate of your country of residence, determined at checkout; the total you see at checkout is the total you pay. Business customers may enter a valid VAT ID at checkout, in which case the reverse-charge mechanism applies where the law provides for it. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. An invoice showing the applicable VAT is generated for every purchase and sent to your account email; it is also available on request via info@starit-academy.com.

4. Your account

You need an account to take the course. Keep your login to yourself: access is personal and non-transferable, and sharing a login is a breach of these terms. You are responsible for the accuracy of the name on your profile — it is the name printed on your certificate.

5. Access and course completion

Your access lasts for the duration of your study, at your own pace, for as long as the course is offered on Star IT Academy. The course concludes when you pass the final exam and your certificate is issued; course content access ends at completion. We keep the course materials current; the version available during your study is the version you receive, including updates released while you study.

If Star IT Academy ever winds down, we will give registered users at least 60 days' notice by email, and certificates will remain downloadable until closure. Your certificate is a document you own: we encourage you to download and store it when it is issued, and its validity as a record of what you completed does not depend on this platform continuing to exist.

6. Licence to the materials

You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the course materials for your own learning. You may not copy, record, redistribute, resell, publish, or create derivative works from any part of the course, including generated lab content. All intellectual property remains with Star IT, SIA.

7. AI-powered features

Parts of the course use AI models to power labs and feedback. AI output can be imperfect — reviewing it critically is, in fact, part of the curriculum. AI features are subject to fair-use limits (rate and volume caps) to keep them available for all learners; automated abuse, scraping, or attempts to use course AI features as a general-purpose service may result in suspension of those features.

8. The certificate

The certificate confirms that its holder completed this course and passed its exam at Star IT Academy. It is our own credential and does not represent or imply any external accreditation. Each certificate carries a unique ID and can be verified online at starit-academy.com/verify for as long as Star IT Academy operates; the downloaded certificate remains yours as a document regardless.

9. Right of withdrawal

As an EU consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Because the course is digital content with immediate access, at checkout you are asked to expressly consent to immediate access and acknowledge that you thereby lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once access begins. Full details, including how to withdraw, are in our Withdrawal & Refund Policy.

10. Conformity and your legal guarantees

As digital content supplied to consumers in the EU, the course must conform to this description and function as a reasonable consumer expects. If it doesn't — content won't load, features are broken, the certificate contains our error — you are entitled to have it brought into conformity free of charge, and where the law provides, to a price reduction or refund. Report any issue to info@starit-academy.com; fixing it is our job regardless of any deadline. Your statutory rights under EU and Latvian consumer law are not limited by anything in these terms.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights. Beyond that, we are liable for intent and gross negligence; for ordinary negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual duties and up to the price you paid. The course teaches skills; we do not guarantee specific career or business outcomes.

12. Changes to these terms

We may change, add to, or remove parts of these terms at any time — as the platform, the law, and our services evolve. The current version is always published on this page with its last-updated date. For material changes we will notify account holders by email, and the changes take effect from the date stated in the notice. Your continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

One protection never changes: updates do not apply to already-purchased courses unless required by law or beneficial to you. The core of what you purchased — the course access, certificate, and consumer rights as described in the version in force at the time of your purchase — is never reduced retroactively.

13. Disputes

Complaints first, please: info@starit-academy.com — most issues are fixable quickly. If we can't resolve a dispute together, consumers in Latvia and the EU may turn to the Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission at the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Centre (ptac.gov.lv) or another competent out-of-court dispute resolution body in their country, without prejudice to the right to go to court.
